About Me

Well, in my own understanding, I can be best described by the following line of Fani Badayuni:

Ek Muamma hoon na samajhane ka, na samjhane ka

(I am a puzzle, neither to be understood nor to understand.)

However, according to others, as famously said by some poet:

Zahid-e-tang nazar ne mujhe kafir samjha/Kafir yeh samjhta hai musalman hoon main

(To the narrow-minded Muslim I am a kafir / And the communal Hindus think I am a fanatic Muslim)

Inspiration

“This world is beautiful and I certainly love this beautiful world, but my work and my duty are important to me. I’ve to fulfill the responsibility that I’ve taken up. These people will kill me, but I know that by killing me none can finish our movement.”

— Shankar Guha Niyogi (born in 1943 and assassinated in 1991)

“I challenge the Darkness. If nothing else, then at least around myself, I will not let it settle. Around myself I will establish Light.”

—Jaswant Singh Khalra (born in 1950 and disappeared/assassinated in 1995)

“I am pained, the heart bleeds, when I hear what they have endured. But in spite of all that, it will never be easy for me to see an innocent being sent behind bars or to the gallows only because the crime alleged was a bomb blast.”

—Adv. Shahid Azmi (born in 1977 and assassinated in 2010)

My modus operandi

I will make voice heard, I’ll go out into the world and work for the mankind. ~ Anne Frank

And

Unka jo kaam hai woh ahl-ey-siyasat jane/Mera paigham mohabbat hai jahan tak pahunche

(Let the politicians of the world do their job/My message is one of love, may it spread far)~ Jigar Muradabadi

And last but the most important question, why this Blog? Let me borrow my answer from Anne Frank:

“I want to write, but more than that, I want to bring out all kinds of things that lie buried deep in my heart…I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn…There’s something happening every day, but I’m too tired and lazy to write it all down.”

Masthead : the Urdu couplet by Mirza Ghalib written on the Masthead reads:

Bazeecha-e-itfal hai duniya mere aage/ Hota hai shab-o-roz tamasha mere aage

(The world is like a child’s playground before me/ Night and Day, this theater is enacted before me)
